Standard Operations
Driving lesson #2 with a standard transmission. I've been told I'm allowed to brag and feel like a champ after just my second lesson. I drove all the way from the Biosphere to Annaberg, and back! I even stopped on a steep uphill grade and was able to get moving again! Starting a standard on a 45 degree angle is not the easiest. I think if you could drive standard on this island, you can drive it anywhere. I'm pumped to go out on the next driving trip and use my new skills.
Another dip into the ocean and relaxing on the beach this evening. It's just hot out right now. I'm going to dip in the ocean, even though it's dusky, and maybe find a few pieces of sea glass. I've been collecting bits and pieces all over the island since I arrived just over 6 weeks ago. I've got a small glass where I've been tossing all the bits I've found. The translucent glow of weathered Caribbean-hued glass bring a happy smile to my face every time I find another piece laying in the sand.
